Bio

Niko Vavloukis
Started in Berkeley CA, and now lives in LA

Niko Vavloukis is a multi-instrumentalist and producer hailing fromBerkeley, California. Niko grew up playing jazz in a small combo with high school friends, as well as taking part in the Berkeley High Jazz band playing gigs all around the California Bay Area. Originally a Trumpet and keys playerNiko found the guitar in his last year in High School and became obsessed with learning Django Reinhardt solos and other songs in the Gypsy Jazz idiom. After Graduating High School, he wasn’t sure what to do with his life and went to Lake Forest College in Chicago with a Reid Music scholarship to study Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (BMB) with a minor in MusicPerformance. After realizing that BMB was taking a back seat to his true passion for music, he auditioned for Berklee at the Chicago RecordingCompany. After getting into Berklee College of Music, Niko started studyingProfessional Music with concentrations in Writing, Production, andPerformance he’s had the chance to branch out into many different genres, including Rap, Jazz Fusion, and IDM. Niko has been honing his skills since coming to Berklee and has worked as a producer and performer helping artists like MKAres(pictured below), Luiza Girardello, and Caleb Tesfaye complete their sound.He has also worked for the Flynch Entertainment Podcast and on short films such as 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. as a producer and session musician. At the momentNiko works as an A1 audio engineer for Groov’n You entertainment group as well as a Guitar, piano, bass, and theory teacher at the School of Rock in Watertown.
